Collins Park District in Miami Beach

The Collins Park area of South Beach is known as the Cultural Arts Neighborhood District Overlay, or “CANDO,” and offers excellent choices in holiday apartments Miami Beach. The Miami New Times considers the neighborhood to be South Beach’s “most up and coming” area, and even though it is often overlooked, it is a worthy residential and arts district.

The neighborhood is across from the Miami Beach Convention Center, and runs from 17th to 23rd Streets and Washington Avenue and Pinetree Drive to the Atlantic Ocean. Many of the buildings in Collins Park were built in the 1930s and 50s and consist of low-rise Art Deco designs, including the Governor Hotel and the former Princeton Hotel, which is where the New World Symphony now is.

In addition to the historic architecture, this cultural district is home to modern condos, hotels, and residential buildings, such as the Setai Hotel and Residences, Parc Place Residences, the new W Hotel South Beach and Residences, and ArteCity Miami Beach, which is an upscale residential area with over two hundred condos, townhouses, and suites. Many older buildings in Collins Park are being refurbished as New York and South Florida developers step in to build trendy condominiums.

In addition to the stylish homes, hotels, and vacation condos, this neighborhood features the most sought after restaurants and nightclubs, as well as some of the best artistic and cultural establishments in Miami Beach. Not to mention the beautiful beach views.
